About Me
Clinical Background
I have practiced as a clinical neuropsychologist for over 12 years, conducting cognitive assessments and functional brain mapping services in patients undergoing neurosurgery. I adopt an evidence-based approach to assessment and rehabilitation and specialise in offering clinical services to patients with epilepsy and non-epileptic seizures as well as a number of other neurological conditions.
Rehabilitation Therapy
I have a special interest in mindfulness training and over 20 year’s experience of personal practice as well as scientific study into the mechanisms and neurobiology of mindfulness. I am also a certified facilitator of Mindfulness-Based Interventions.
Academic Activities
I manage the Epilepsy Research Unit at Mediclinic Constantiaberg and am an Honorary Research Associate in the Neuroscience Institute at the University of Cape Town, conducting research and lecturing to students in the divisions of Neuropsychology and Neuroscience.
